# LateralDeck

> A real-time multiplayer lateral thinking card game 
> for remote teams. No account needed.

LateralDeck is a structured creative thinking tool 
for teams of 1–9 players. A host starts a session, 
players join via a code, and each player receives a 
different thinking card — a lens that frames how they 
approach a problem. Players think in silence for one 
minute, then reveal their answers simultaneously. 
This eliminates groupthink and hierarchy from 
creative discussions.

## What it does

- Multiplayer sessions for remote and in-person teams
- Three card modes: Classic, Colour Thinking, 6+1 Hats
- Solo mode (Think Solo) for individual reflection
- No account, no login, no installation required
- Sessions auto-delete after 24 hours (GDPR compliant)
- 1–9 players, ~10 minutes per session

## Card modes

**Classic** — 12 lateral thinking technique cards based 
on Edward de Bono's foundational methods. Structured 
prompts that break conventional thinking patterns.

**Colour Thinking** — Based on the Insights Discovery 
model. Each player receives a colour persona (Red / 
Firestarter, Yellow / Sunshine, Green / Groundskeeper, 
Blue / Skygazer) randomly assigned. Each colour 
represents a distinct cognitive style.

**6+1 Hats** — Based on De Bono's Six Thinking Hats, 
extended with a seventh Royal/Purple hat. Each hat 
represents a distinct thinking mode: facts, emotions, 
caution, optimism, creativity, process, and vision.
